Company co-founder retires
NewEra Software, Inc. announced that Robert Tapia, a co-founder of the company in 1989, is retiring.
Tapia, the chief technology officer, and Robichaux started NewEra Software in 1989 with a software application named Stand Alone Edit then and called Stand Alone Environment now. It has since become the industry standard for the repair, recovery and data erasure of the IBM mainframe computing platform.
As chief technical officer, Tapia directed the development of several NewEra products including Image FOCUS and The Control Editor. He also helped develop many in-house applications that drive NewEra’s business on a day-to-day basis.
Realtor completes course
Kathleen Shaffer, a real-estate agent with Realty World South Valley, has completed a course in the new skills involved in obtaining and servicing real-estate listings. The class is one of the required course that must be taken by real-estate agents and brokers in order to qualify for the coveted Certified Residential Specialist designation from NAR. The designation is held by less than 4 percent of Realtors nationwide.
Benjamin recognized for sales
Kim Benjamin of AtHome America in Gilroy was recognized for having high March team sales. She has been with the company since January 2005. AtHome specializes in direct-sales home decorating accessories.
Eagle soars high
James Eagle, managing broker of Coldwell Banker’s Morgan Hill office, earned the company’s President’s Council Award for his office’s success in 2006. He has received the award each year since being named the office manager in 2001.
Eagle has more than 30 years experience, and is a past secretary and treasurer of the Santa Clara County Association of Realtors, and has been an active member of the National Association of Realtors, California Association of Realtors, South County Association of Realtors and the Santa Clara Association of Realtors.
