Cornelius Michael Hernandez died Friday, March 26 in Fairfield,
after a short illness. He was 72 years old.

Mr. Hernandez was born in San Mateo and served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged and received the Korean Service Meal, United Nations Service Medal and National Defense Service Medal. Mr. Hernandez was an avid 49er fan. His passion was old black and white moves on television.
He is survived by his wife and best friend of 30 years, Linda Hernandez; son, Larry Hernandez of Birmingham, Ala.; brother and sister-in-law, Angelo and Rachel Hernandez of Quartz Hill; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Gene and Patricia Provencher of Fairfield; sister-in-law Lisa Hoefert of Fairfield; brother-in-law Ron Trainer of Rodeo; Brother-in-law and sister-in-law Mike and Susie Trainer of Rodeo; brother-in-law Terry Trainer of Folsom; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his son, Michael Hernandez; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
His daily visits, smiles and teasing will be missed by Shoana, Mary and Kelly.
In lieu of flowers the family encourages donations to the National Kidney Foundation of Northern CA at 611 Mission St., 3rd Floor, San Francisco, CA 94105.
Rosary services will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., Tuesday, March 30, at the Bryan-Braker Funeral Home in Fairfield. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m., March 31, at St. Alphonsus Cemetery.
