Man tries to pass fake pain pill prescription, flees
On Mar. 3 at 5 p.m., a 47-year-old white male from Clovis tried to pass a forged prescription at the Costco pharmacy, according to police reports. The prescription, for 30-milligram oxycodone pills that are potent schedule II narcotics, looked fishy to the pharmacist. Unsure of its legitimacy, the pharmacist called the doctor who supposedly wrote it, Espinoza said.
“The pharmacist figured out that the doctor was currently out-of-state, and someone had stolen a prescription pad from her office earlier,” he added.
Before police arrived, the suspect fled on foot. He left his real name with the pharmacist on the prescription, and the GPD is working on tracking him down.
According to Espinoza, these criminal attempts at fooling pharmacists into filling fake prescriptions happen frequently after prescription pads are stolen from doctors’ offices in Gilroy.

The victim was positively identified as a 16-year-old male whose name is withheld given his age. He received a citation for assault and battery. A second suspect, also a 16-year-old male, is still outstanding, Espinoza said.

The GPD arrested 55-year-old Perry Jackson of Gilroy after he drove into the parking lot of their residence on the 500 block of Old Gilroy Street for making criminal threats, domestic violence and driving under the influence.
A local judge approved an emergency protective restraining order, which was later served to Jackson, according to police. Jackson was booked into the Santa Clara County Jail and his bail is set at $155,000.
