Gilroy – Czar Construction moved into first place in the Men’s BB League softball scramble Friday with an 11-3 victory over DLM Electric at Christmas Hill Park.
Danny Rodriguez tripled and Joel Vaca and Bobby Reggiani added doubles as Czar pushed across eight runs in the fourth inning. Reggiani and Benny Sanchez each mustered three hits for the 4-1 league leaders. Raul Gracia scored twice for 4-2 DLM Electric.
Ralphie Martinez lined two home runs and Eric Tomasetti cracked three doubles as the Good Fellas upset Bad News 18-17. Xavier Puente collected a triple and two singles for 3-2 Bad News.
Kline’s Plumbing and Interstate Fence-Dee’z Nutz battled to an 11-11 tie after eight innings. Duffy Kline scored four runs for Kline’s Plumbing. Will Lawrence stroked a triple and two doubles for Fence-Dee’z.
Men’s D
Randy Evanger and Markus Medina each poked three hits to lead South Valley Plumbing-Elam Trucking past Rosso’s Rebels 9-1 in Men’s D League play Friday at Las Animas Park.
Darren Newton scored two runs as Plumber-Trucker moved to 4-1 atop the standings entering Friday’s showdown with 4-1 Dan Keith Septics at 8:50pm at Las Animas. Zeke Lopez went 2-for-3 for Rosso’s.
Dan Keith Septics exploded to a 9-3 lead and held off Ellite Barbers 9-7. Tito Flores went 3-for-3 and Joel Lopez singled and doubled for Dan Keith Septics. Gregory Lucio went 3-for-4 and Eic Tollison homered and doubled for the Barbers.
Dave Keim Jr. hit a grand slam, a solo shot, a double and single in a 25-10 Dr. Tile victory over Team Hair FX. Ben Roybal went 3-for-4 and scored four Dr. Tile runs. Tony Martinez went 3-for-3 for Team Hair FX.
South County Rockery maintained a one-game league in the Co-Rec D League pennant chase Sunday with a 19-7 nod over the Icy Hots at Las Animas Park.
Liz Martinez lined four hits and Raul Gracia scored four runs as the Rockers moved to 5-0 entering the final week of the first half. Radiator Doctor is 4-1 after a forfeit win over Giacalone Electrical Services. Manuel Arce homered and doubled, Carl Bleisch homered and singled for the Icy Hots.
Men’s E
EvMar and the Titans each improved to 5-0 Thursday at Christmas Hill Park to set up a showdown next week for the first-half Men’s E League championship.
EvMar slipped past Dutchman’s Pizza 10-9 behind three hits from Pascal Cid and a double and single from Jason Mesa. Larry Reimal and J. P. Perez each registered three hits for Dutchman’s Pizza.
Steve Welch delivered a triple and three singles to lead the Titans by Claddagh Brew Crew 13-3. Jim Reimer and Craig Deal each mustered three singles for the winners. Ray Berzins went 3-for-3 for the Brew Crew.
EvMar plays the Titans at 8:40pm Thursday June 8 at Las Animas Park for the first-half crown.
Campbell’s Towing snapped an 8-8 tie in the sixth inning with a five-run rally to defeat South Valley Community Church Thumpers #2 13-8 at Las Animas.
Earl Nattras hit a solo home run with one out in the Campbell’s sixth to make it 9-8. Brandon Straw hit a two-run triple, Sammy Avila an RBI-triple in the rally. Jesse Rawlins and Straw each finished with three hits for the Towers. Jake O’Sullivan and Craig Wong each pounded three hits for the Thumpers.
Jesse Aguilar, Sergio Sanchez and Jorge Sanchez each stroked four hits to highlight a 16-5 victory over Heinzen Manufacturing. Mark Logan, Tom Martinez and Rudi Groppe each managed three hits for Heinzen.
Men’s EE
St. Mary Men’s Club stopped Gamers In Control 13-8 Thursday at Gavilan Sports Park to clinch at least a tie for the first-half Men’s EE title.
John Doyle muscled a two-run home run and Andrew Lanier went 4-for-4 as St. Mary improved to 4-1 atop the seven-team league. Rudi Tovar homered and A.J. Martinez bagged three singles for the Gamers.
Mario Flores and Tony Rodrigues each lined three hits to lead South Valley Community Church Thumpers #1 past the Good Ole Boys 9-5. Chad Dvorak stroked three hits and Ron Paterson and Don Haygood each hit two singles for the Good Ole Boys.
Omar Rodriguez cracked a home run and four singles as 2NQ finished the half at 4-2 with a 27-7 verdict over VFW Bingo. Nick Aldrete homered and Gabe Sandoval went 3-for-3 for VFW Bingo.
