Delphina M. Filice died Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2005 in Santa Rosa.
Born in Gilroy, April 19, 1915, she was a member of St. Mary’s Mother’s Club, Catholic Ladies Aide Society, St. Mary’s Church, Gilroy, Children’s Home Society, Storybook Chapter, Gilroy Assistance League and Wheeler Hospital Auxiliary, and a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley.
She is the daughter of the late Gennaro A. Filice founder of the Filice and Perrelli Canning Co. of Gilroy, and Angelina Perrelli Filice and step-mother Clara Bozzo Filice; the wife of the late Ernest E. Filice, Sr.; mother of Dr. George Filice and his wife, Donna of Green Valley, Dr. Ralph Filice and his wife Nancy of Walnut Creek, Ernest E. Filice, Jr. and his wife, Patty of Gilroy, and Mary Jane Filice Gunter, and her husband, Doug of Windsor; the grandmother of Brian Filice, Christine Filice Parikh, Nicole Filice Capshaw, David Filice, Daniel Filice, Doreen Filice and Montina Filice; the great-grandmother of Jessica and Amanda Parikh; the sister of Gennaro A. Filice Jr., George Filice and the late Michael Filice; and many nieces and nephews in Gilroy and the East Bay.
A vigil will be held at 7pm, Monday, Jan. 17, 2005, at Habing Family Funeral Home, Gilroy.
Funeral services will begin at 10:30am, Tuesday at the funeral home, then proceed to St. Mary’s Church for Mass at 11am.
Entombment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Gilroy.
