It’s sure to be a frightfully fun and safe Halloween celebration for all ages. Ticket includes a special pre-show trick-or-treating tour through the exclusive Castle Heights neighborhood. The event takes place at Dance Unlimited, 15650 Vineyard Blvd., Morgan Hill.
Performance dates are Friday, Oct. 24, at 7 p.m.; Saturday, Oct. 25 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 26 at 2 p.m.
The event is for Dance Unlimited to raise money for a new floor and equipment. The ticket price is $10 .

Gavilan hosts first triathlon
GILROY – In what is scheduled to be an annual event, Gavilan College is hosting its first triathlon, Saturday, Oct. 25, presented by Wolfpak Triathlon Club and the Gavilan Rams women’s softball team. The Gavilan College Triathlon will begin at 8 a.m. on the college campus in Gilroy. The event will include a 400-yard pool swim, a 15-mile bike ride and a 3-mile trail run. Only $40 per person in advance, $45 the day of the event. A relay team (three people) can register for $70, $80 the day of the event. T-shirts, refreshment and prizes are included. Illegal raffle
MORGAN HILL – An illegal raffle by a group called “The Henchmen” was broken up by the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office special operations units Saturday afternoon without incident.
Approximately 200 people were gathered at the Quail Inn near Chesbro Reservoir northwest of Morgan Hill at 5 p.m. on Saturday when the special operations unit received a tip. It was determined no permits had been pulled for the raffle, according to Public Information Officer Terrance Helm, and units moved in to shut down the raffle.
Approximately 20 officers, heavily armed and dressed in body armor, some with gas masks, arrived on the scene. There were no arrests and no incidents, Helm said. Cash and prizes were confiscated, but Helm said the amounts and items could not be released at this time. The investigation is ongoing, and the report will be forwarded to the District Attorney’s office, Helm said.
Spaghetti feed
San Martin – The San Martin Lions Club will host its fifth annual Spaghetti Feed and Raffle on Friday, Oct. 24. Dinner will be served from 6 to 8 p.m. Adults are $6 and children 6 and under are $3. The Lions Club is located at 12415 Murphy Ave. Chef will be Val Filice.

Big brothers/sisters dinner
SAN JOSE – Big Brothers Big Sisters of Santa Clara County announces its annual fund-raising dinner, Friday, Oct. 24, beginning at 6:45 p.m., located at the Fairmont’s Fourth Street Banquet Facility on the Top Floor of the Fourth Street Parking Garage, corner of Fourth and San Fernando, San Jose.

Calling all Rams
HOLLISTER – Anyone who ever played for the Gavilan College Rams under coach Bobby Garcia is invited to attend this year’s Gavilan College homecoming game on Saturday, Oct. 25, at San Benito High School, 1220 Monterey St., Hollister, for a special half-time presentation. Before the game, attendees can participate in a tailgate party featuring music, dinner buffet catered by Chili’s and beverages provided by Pepsi Cola at 6 p.m. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
It’s been 30 years since Bobby Garcia and the 1973 Gavilan College Football Team won the National Championship. The Gavilan College Rams would like to celebrate this anniversary, and the great tradition of Rams football, by honoring all former players and coaches who ever competed for Coach Garcia. In addition, they will be recognizing Coach Garcia and the 1973 football team.

SAN JUAN BAUTISTA – The San Juan Bautista Fashion Guild invites you to attend its semi-annual fashion show “Shine on Harvest Moon” on Sunday, Oct. 26, at noon, at San Juan Oaks Golf Country Club, 3825 Union Road, Hollister. AROMAS – The Aromas Hills Artisans will be holding their third annual Autumn Art Festival, Sunday, Oct. 26, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Aromas Community Grange. Handcrafted artwork by local artists will be on display and for sale. Enjoy a country style breakfast 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. at only $3.50 to $5.
