Water district officials accepted the annual Innovative Program Award last week at a special ceremony. The award, given to a special district every year by the CSDA, is based on the originality, success, cost-efficiency and practicability of a district program.

The following day, on Saturday, Oct. 9, the Gavilan baseball program’s past will be highlighted at an Alumni Baseball Game set for the “Home of the Rams,” the Gavilan College baseball field. The game is scheduled for a noon first pitch and Gavilan baseball coach Neal Andrade said longtime Coach Bob Nickerson’s jersey will be retired at the game.
