Fire damages Morgan Hill home

Morgan Hill – A two-alarm fire caused at least $100,000 in damage to a home at 17710 Woodland Ave. in west Morgan Hill Friday morning.

Firefighters from four agencies brought the blaze reported at 10:44am under control in about 30 minutes and kept the damage to the front of the house. The cause of the fire has not been determined.

Gary Wright, who has lived in the house for 19 years with his wife, said they were not at home when they learned of the fire from neighbors who telephoned them.

Units from the Santa Clara County Fire Department, Gilroy and San Jose fire departments along with California Department of Forestry responded. A hazardous material unit was also dispatched for clean up.

No other structures or vegetation were threatened, Johnson said.
