Donald Kinkead died suddenly on Wednesday, March 24 , 2004 in Gilroy. He was 75.

He first moved to Gilroy in the fall of 1975, working as a co-manager at the local TG&Y for a year and a half before being transferred.

He then lived in several other places in California, Wyoming and Georgia before returning to Gilroy in 1989, where he worked for K-Mart in Gilroy and San Jose.

In his retirement, Don enjoyed his garden at his daughter’s home and playing on the computer. Every day he stopped by Nob Hill for his morning coffee and was easily spotted by his bright orange baseball cap.

Don is survived by his children Cindy Hughes of Gilroy, James and Marsha Kinkead of Loganville, Ga., and Robert Eggli of West Haven, Utah, and David and Cheri Kinkead of Peoria, Arizona; his grandchildren Michelle and Kenneth Smith of Fresno, Tina and Kenny Davis of Loganville, Ga., Wendy and Adam Hearndon of Atlanta, Ga., Jennifer and Matt Johnson of Syracuse, Utah, Andrea Eggli and Christina Eggli of West Haven, Utah, Cathy and Robert Eggli of West Have Utah, Melissa Kinkead and Kristine Kinkead of Peoria, Ariz.

He had four great-grandchildren: Corinne and Kiana Smith of Fresno, and Andrew and Rebecca Davis of Loganville, Georgia.

He was preceeded in death by his wife Dee, his parents, Donald and Hazel Kinkead, and his sister, Jeanne Arrington.

Mr. Kinkead donated his body to Stanford University School of Medicine. There will be no memorial services.
