Gilroy – Don’s Vending rallied from an 8-1 deficit to outlast Image & Design Salon & Day Spa-Guy’s Heating 13-12 in a Women’s Winter League contest Monday at Las Animas Park.
Image-Guy’s rushed to an 8-1 lead by the third inning, spurred by a two-run triple and a sacrifice fly by Laura Vargas.
The Vendors pulled even in the bottom of the third with a seven-run outburst. Liz Talavera, Susan Shapiro and Cherise Martinez hit consecutive doubles to spark the rally.
Chrissy Ivory completed a 4-for-4 night for Image-Guy’s with a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth for a 12-11 lead. Talavera and Shapiro poked consecutive two-out RBI-singles in the Don’s Vending sixth.
Liz Adams added three hits for the 4-0 Vendors. Colleen Brown went 3-for-4 and Linda Figone scored three runs for the 2-2 losers.
Goldsmith’s moved into a third-place tie at 2-2 with a 17-4 victory over the M&M’s.
Michelle Marshall ripped a double and two singles, Dora Olivares three singles for Goldsmith’s Seeds. Sally Snyder, Kathy Meisenheimer and Debra Grove each logged two hits for the M&M’s.
Team Ninja reached 3-1 in Women’s Winter play by rolling by the Longhouse Restaurant 26-2.
Elena Garcia and Michelle Barry each homered for Team Ninja. Antoinette Bowe went 5-for-5 and scored four Ninja runs.
Sophia Gause spanked a single, double and triple for Longhouse Restaurant. Vanessa Gomez went 2-for-2 and scored on Longhouse run.
Men’s DDD
The Loco Boys grabbed first place in the Men’s Winter DDD League action Monday with an 11-6 nod over Deadman Inc. at Christmas Hill Park.
Daniel Fellows led the Loco Boys to a 3-1 mark with two doubles, a single and a sacrifice fly. Robert Van Tassel contributed a triple and two singles, Bubba Lara a double and triple for the Loco Boys. Mark Cisneros hit a homer and two singles, joining Clint Ferguson and Josh Ehle in the three-hit category for the 2-1 Deadman.
Walton & Sons Masonry reached 2-1 with a 10-6 victory over the VFW Vets.
Jason Mesa’s RBI-double helped Walton & Sons to three runs in the sixth inning. Jarred Reeve posted a double, single and sacrifice fly for the Masonry offense. Doug Baker collected four hits for the Vets.
AAA-Cali Boys reached 2-1 with a 17-1 decision over the Good Ole Boys. Art Del Valle and Danny Banderas each homered for the Boys. Mark Sigala followed with a single, double and triple. Bill Miller went 2-for-2 and scored the Good Ole Boys run.
