Dorene Jo (Smith) Wilber, 72, of Berry Creek, died after a short illness on December 9, 2011. She was born to the late C. Dale and Rafaela Smith, Sept. 24, 1939 in Hollister, CA. Dorene graduated from San Benito High School in 1957 and attended Notre Dame College with a music scholarship.
Dorene worked for many years as a beautician and piano teacher until she retired in 1994. Dorene was an active member of Sacred Heart Church. She loved to travel with her close friend, Linda Morrisey.
Dorene is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Wilber and is survived by four children: Sean Sullivan (Catrena), of Kirkland, WA, Thomas Sullivan of Berry Creek, CA, Ron Sullivan of Hollister, CA, and Michael Sullivan of Chico, CA. She also is survived by eight grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to the National Kidney Foundation or the American Lung Association.
No services are scheduled. A celebration of her life is being planned.
