A CalStar helicopter lands in the middle of Meridian street Thursday afternoon to fly the injured driver to a Bay Area hospital.

The single-vehicle accident happened shortly before 6:30 p.m., according to a statement from CalFire.

The driver of the vehicle was extricated once firefighters arrived. Responders transported the driver to the airport before the resident was airlifted to Santa Clara Valley Medical Center.

There was no more information provided. CalFire Information Officer Jonathan Pangburn did not immediately return a phone call.
