A driver of a stolen vehicle crashed the car into a fence along
Burchell Road then fled on foot sometime Monday night, according to
the California Highway Patrol.
Law enforcement officials are looking for the driver of a stolen vehicle who crashed the car along Burchell Road then fled on foot this morning, according to the Gilroy Police Department.
The vehicle, a blue Saturn sedan, was reported stolen from the 200 block of Third Street at 6:47 a.m., according to the GPD.
The car’s owner had “no idea” who might have taken the vehicle, GPD Sgt. Chad Gallicinao said. There is no suspect information at this time, he said.
Police recveived calls of an auto accident along Burchell Road at 7:46 a.m., Gallacinao said.
Officers soon learned the crashed vehicle was the one that had been reported stolen, according to the CHP.
The vehicle appeared to have left the roadway and collide with a privately owned fence along Burchell Road, according to the CHP.
