Dump prescription drugs off tomorrow at a Drug Enforcement Administration drop-off site in Hollister, Salinas, Los Gatos, Campbell or Santa Clara from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sept. 29.

The fifth annual National Prescription Drug Take Back Day is being held at thousands of sites across the county this Saturday, according to a press release from the DEA.

“These Take Back Days give the public the opportunity to prevent pill abuse and theft by ridding their homes of potentially dangerous expired, unused or unwanted prescriptions,” said the press release.

The press release said that a majority of abused prescription drugs are obtained from family and friends, including from the home medicine cabinet.

The drop-off service is free and confidential – no questions asked.

For a list of drop off spot addresses, go to dea.gov and enter your zip code.
