Takko-Machi residents 'shaken up' after earthquake

The quake occurred at 5:50 p.m. It was centered 10 miles west of Hollister and 10 miles south of Gilroy, according to the USGS. That would put the quake’s epicenter near the San Juan Bautista area, though the Mission City is not listed on the USGS website.

The earthquake, with no damage reported locally, was 4.4 miles deep at the epicenter.
