Edith Coombs, a longtime resident of Gilroy, died peacefully on
Nov. 1, 2003. Coombs was 80 years old.
Edith Coombs, a longtime resident of Gilroy, died peacefully on Nov. 1, 2003. Coombs was 80 years old.

Coombs served the community as chaplain at Saint Louise Regional Hospital.

Coombs is survived by her daughter Shirley Phillips, of Martinez, and by three sons: David Coombs, of Georgia, Stanley Coombs, of Nevada, and Stephen Coombs, of Sacramento. She had 30 grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Coombs will be long remembered and deeply missed by her family and her many friends in this community.

There will be a memorial service for Coombs at Saint Louise Regional Hospital this Thursday at 3 p.m. in the hospital cafeteria.
