Born to John and Ella Murphy on Dec. 19, 1921 in Chicago, Ill., Eileen Marie Murphy Jarvis passed away peacefully on Sept. 13, 2007. She is reunited with her loving husband of 58 years Arthur, her brothers John and Howard, her sisters Elizabeth and Celeste, and each of their spouses.
After retirement, she and Arthur, Sr. followed their eldest son Art to California to be close to the first of her eight grandchildren, and the couple lived happily in San Jose and Morgan Hill for the next 25 years. The last four years she was cared for by her daughter Celeste Watson and Celeste’s husband Jerry in Henderson, NV.
She will be deeply missed by sons Arthur and Timothy, her daughter Celeste, beloved grandchildren Jennifer, Nicole, Kevin, Lindsay, Shawn, Gabriella, Michael and Mathew and eleven equally beloved great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at Johnson Funeral Home in Morgan Hill on Tuesday, Sept. 18 from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Gilroy on Wednesday, September 19, 2007 at 10:00 A.M. Interment to follow at Mt. Hope Memorial Park in Morgan Hill.
