Two generations of fencing maestros put on a fencing clinic earlier this month at Gavilan College. Gavilan master fencer John DeCesare and his former student, Cole Harkness, put on demonstrations for the college’s fencing class. Harkness, a certified fencing master, competed for San Jose St. and has been a Pacific Coast Championship finalist three times. He has coached for Santa Clara University, University of San Francisco and the Stanford University Fencing Club.
