suffered in an automobile accident.

She was 15.

Erin was an honor roll student and varsity cheerleader at Gilroy High School. She was a competitive gymnast and a blue belt in taekwondo. She also was active in the STAR and South Valley Civic Theater programs.

She is survived by her loving parents Scott and Miki Kinkel of Gilroy; beloved sister of Megan, Danielle and Catherine; granddaughter of Laura and Sy Gelman of San Jose, Betty Kinkel of Clear Lake, Michael Matecki of Clear Lake and Sarah Kinkel of San Jose, niece of Kyle Kinkel of Missouri, Ira and Gloria Finkelstein of San Jose and Bill and Kim McLean of Fremont; her boyfriend and her love Jason Cole of Gilroy; and numerous cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 5, 2004, at the Oakwood Country School, 105 John Wilson Way, Morgan Hill. Burial will follow at Gavilan Hills Memorial Park, Gilroy. Under direction of Habing Family Funeral Home.

Donations to the Susan Komen breast cancer foundation in Erin’s memory are preferred and appreciated by her family.
