GILROY – FFC rallied past Gaeta’s Taqueria 66-62 Tuesday to forge a tie for first place in the Men’s C League with one week left in the regular-season Gilroy Community Services Department program at Solorsano Gymnasium.

Neil Garrett scored 25 of his game-high 31 points in the second half as FFC moved to 3-2 along with Gaeta’s. The season concludes Tuesday with Headstart facing Gaeta’s at 7 p.m., FFC playing Triple Play.

Darwin Collins provided 11 points for FFC. Sommy Olk Elk netted six three-point field goals for 18 Gaeta’s points. Richard Klauer provided 13, Mark Cisneros 12 and David Herrera 11 for the losers.

Triple Threat stopped Headstart 48-37 to leave both clubs at 2-3. Jacob Garcia paced the Threat with 13 points, while Tommy Razzeca was good for 12, Jadrien Garcia 11. Shannon Farington struck for 10 points, Bob Lemmon nine for Headstart, the first-half D champion.

Beale Properties is 4-1 atop the Men’s D League after a 72-69 edging of Pizza N Stuff Wednesday at Solorsano Gym.

Beale, trailing 36-25 at the break, took advantage of 29 points from Armando Ocampo. Brit Bigelow followed with 16, Shawn Teacher 10 for the winners. Miguel Gilliard poured in 30 points, Jeff Powell 19 and Donte Fullard 17 for Pizza N Stuff.

CordeValle joined Pizza N Stuff in second place at 3-2 with a 67-40 nod over Gilroy Young Plants. Mike Martinez netted 15 points, Daniel Crowe 12, Bobby Martin and Brent Torres 11 apiece for the Duffers. Robert Silvia collected 15 points, Ed Lujan 14 for Gilroy Young Plants, the first-half E champion.

The Sparks topped Williams Dental Lab 48-29 Wednesday to improve to 4-1 in the Women’s League. Melvina Ponzio and Shanah Keyes each scored 11 points for the Sparks. Maxine Chavez collected eight points and Jeneee Robertson swished two 3-pointers for Williams Dental Lab.

Michelle Deleissegues provided 14 points as Above the Rim (4-1) defeated R. J.Dyer Real Property Investments 26-18. Wendy Filice-Strametz hit two second-half field goals for the Investors.

Pro Electric-Gavilan Honda-Rio Nilo powered by the Sand Pit 73-38 to remain unbeaten (5-0) in Men’s E play. Mike Sandoval scored 17 points, Tony Werner 14 and Danny Rodriguez 12 for the winners. Adolfo Mireles scored 18 Sand Pit points.

The Playaz are 4-1 after a 56-39 decision over the Titans. Daniel DeLeon and Ed Gamboa each scored 13 Playaz points, Henry Huerta 12 and Al Rivera 10. Mike Vanni exploded for 19 points, Craig Courtney 12 for the Titans.
