133172~Disagree we must, but let’s debate in a civil
fashion—By now, Friday morning, my dilemma has been resolved, but
all last week I agonized, and asked my friends’ advice in the scant
hope that someone more personally-socially intelligent than I would
be able to help me figure out the right thing to do. No luck; my
friends only laughed at me.
I can see both sides of the matter, and it seems that Ms. Lewis should have had better judgement over reading material. Firing her is overkill; children, by sixth grade, have been exposed to so much sexual content that a poem isn’t going to do much more damage. There is a problem with reading sexually explict poems, but to fire a well loved teacher is going too far
