The Gilroy High and Christopher High football teams will both try to play the role of spoiler tonight, challenging teams with a combined 8-1 record in the Monterey Bay league’s Gabilan Division.

Gilroy (2-6 overall, 1-3 MBL) is coming off of a bye week and travels to take on Palma (6-2 overall, 4-0 MBL) at the Salinas Sports Complex.

Game time is 7:30 p.m.

The Chieftains own the tiebreaker for first place over Christopher High’s opponent tonight, Monterey, (7-1 overall, 4-1 MBL), which has played one more league game than Palma.

The Toreadores close the regular season with a nonleague matchup against Seaside – the pacific Division leader.

Kickoff is 7:30 p.m. from Garcia-Elder Sports Complex.

Last week, the Cougars (1-7 overall, 1-3 MBL) became the second Gilroy school to drop its contest against San Benito.

Gilroy and Christopher wrap up the year against each other Nov. 9.
