Forrest E. Kirchner October 19, 1915 -January 13, 2012

Forrest Kirchner whose life was filled with music, friends and family passed away in hishome surrounded by love at the age of 96.Forrest grew up in Des Moines, IA and excelled in music playing in the big band era.

He met the love of his life, Lois Sartor, at one of the dances in which he performed. They were married for 54 years and had one daughter Kathy.

He served in WWII andcompleted his degree in Industrial Arts after the war, at North Texas State College andhis teaching credential at San Jose State University. He opened the first Industrial ArtsProgram at Sunnyvale High School and taught wood shop and business for 34 years

At The First Presbyterian Church, he served in a variety of ministries. Forrest was also active in playing golf, repairing antique furniture, clocks and playing the organ. He was also a member of the Seventh Day Adventist church of Hollister. He loved music, people and laughter and always danced like no one was watching.

He will be deeply missed.Forrest is preceded in death by his wife, Lois Kirchner and is survived by daughter, Kathy Keene, grandchildren, Kimberly Herring and Clayton Keene and great- grandchildren Joshua Keene, Micah Keene and Daniel Herring.

A memorial serviced will be held Saturday, February 11, 2012, at 3:00 P.M. at the FirstPresbyterian Church, 2066 San Benito St, Hollister CA.

A celebration of his life will beafter the memorial service. A special thanks to all of his friends, caregiver MariaGutierrez, and Heartland Hospice especially Stephanie. Amen to a wonderful life and example for all.
