Two cars and a motorcycle involved in an accident on 10th Street

One person was hospitalized with minor injures and traffic on
10th Street was diverted to U.S. Highway 101 for roughly an hour
Tuesday after a motorist rear-ended another vehicle causing a chain
reaction at a traffic signal, according to the Gilroy Police
Department.

In all, four vehicles were involved: A man driving a white Dodge Ram pick-up slammed into the rear bumper of a black Acura sedan, which rear-ended a Mercedes sedan, which collided with a maroon Harley Davidson motorcycle, said GPD Sgt. Kurt Ashley.

Emergency officials and a towing company assisting in moving the vehicles following the accident.

The driver of the motorcycle was taken to a nearby hospital, Ashely said. He said the driver of the white truck was cited for driving too fast for roadway conditions.

“They were all stopped except for the white truck,” Ashley said.

Emergency officials responded to a report of a an accident in the westbound lanes of 10th Street at 3:18 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol. One westbound lane was reopened at about 4:15 p.m.
