Round 3 at the Frys.com Open is under way at CordeValle Golf Club with 80 players who survived the first two rounds and made the +1 cut.
The first groups hit the course for Saturday’s round at 10:15 a.m. after 56 players concluded their second rounds earlier in the morning. Yesterday’s second round was suspended due to darkness after a fog delay postponed the round 2 hours and 20 minutes.
Tiger Woods was among the first players out. He started his round on No. 10. So far, Woods birdied No. 11 to move to 2-under for the tournament.
Live Oak graduate and Morgan Hill native Erick Justesen – tied for 12th at 4-under – is set to tee off at 11:35 a.m. He is playing with Brendan Steele and Bryce Molder.
John Ellis, also a Live Oak grad, missed the cut.
The leader group of Paul Casey (-8) Ernie Els (-7) and Bud Cauley (-7) will go out at 12:25 p.m.
Casey tied a course record on Friday with a 7-under-par 64. Els, who played the final two holes of his second round earlier today, posted a 5-under 66 to climb within one stroke of the lead.
