win over Coast Conference opponent Hartnell on Monday in
Monterey.
SALINAS – Making up a game that was postponed due to rain last Tuesday, the Gavilan College women’s softball team notched a 7-1 win over Coast Conference opponent Hartnell on Monday in Salinas.

The Rams move to 3-1 in conference play and will be right back on the diamond tomorrow versus De Anza College at 3 p.m.

Nikki Lobato picked up the victory in the circle for the Rams, tossing 11 strikeouts and giving up just three hits. Lobato also helped her cause at the plate with two singles and a run scored.

Jasmine Perez had two base-knocks and scored twice for the Rams, who also received two doubles and three RBI from Ashley Gamboa.

Emily Castro also knocked in a pair of runs for head coach Nikki Dequin.

Gavilan closes out the week with another home game Thursday against Foothill College.
