Bryant Cid was a busy man on Tuesday.Â
Cid accounted for two of the Rams’ runs in their 3-2 win over Ohlone at home. It’s Gavilan’s third straight victory.Â
Cid hit a triple and then scored the winning run in the bottom of the eighth inning for Gavilan. He went 2 for 4 with two runs and hit a double and a triple.Â
The Rams got to work in the bottom of the first to take a 2-0 lead. Javier Garcia hit a two-RBI single which sent Cid and John Forestieri home.Â
The Renegades answered in the top of the fourth inning when Tyler Tate hit an RBI single to score Max Diaz. Ohlone got the equalizer in the top of the eighth when Joey Torres reached on an error, allowing Josh Roman to cross the plate.Â
Matt Oxner (3-1) got the win on the bump. He allowed two runs—one unearned—off eight hits through eight innings. He also struck out five and walked two.Â
Garcia was 1 for 2 with two RBIs for Gavilan.Â
Gavilan (9-3 overall, 2-0 in conference) will host Monterey Peninsula College at 2 p.m. Thursday.Â

Cabrillo blanks GavilanÂ
Cabrillo’s Taylor Tessier proved too much for Gavilan.Â
The Seahawks’ pitcher didn’t allow a single hit as her team cruised to a 12-0 win over the Rams in five innings Tuesday in Aptos.Â
Cabrillo got on the board in the bottom of the first with two runs and added seven more in the second to lead 9-0.Â
The Seahawks posted two more in the bottom of the third and another in the bottom of the fourth for the final.Â
Brittani Newman was the lone Ram to get on base with a walk and she also stole a base.Â
Gavilan (4-11) will look to rebound at San Jose City College at 3 p.m. Thursday.
