Gavilan left Sacramento with a split decision. The Rams lost 3-1 to Sacramento City but rebounded with a sweep of Lassen Tuesday at the Sacramento City College Classic.
The Rams serve game was on point against Sacramento City, despite losing 18-25, 14-25, 25-23, 25-27. They racked up 10 aces in the contest, four of which came from Erica Chapa. Alexia Balistreri served up three, while Haleigh Hawkins had two and Madison Hartman one.
Balistreri and Hartman were stellar offensively, racking up 11 and 10 kills against Sac City, respectively. Chapa notched 28 assists and 17 digs. Valerie Rodgers tallied 14 digs of her own.
Gavilan was dominant in its 25-18, 25-15, 25-16 win over Lasen. Samantha Nydam led the offense with 12 kills followed by Chapa with 10. Chapa also had 15 assists, while Serena Adame had 12. Rodgers tallied 17 digs and Balistreri served up three aces.
The Rams (4-4) will take on Feather River and Delta colleges at the Feather River College Classic Friday in Quincy.
