10-1 over the Santa Cruz American team Wednesday.

Brandon Cook pitched four innings for Gilroy while allowing only one run. Aidan Goicovich closed out the game in the fifth inning.

Other players pitched in on defense as well, as Catcher Anthony Drysdale made a diving play at the plate for an out, and Nick Garcia, playing second base, turned a double play with the help of shortstop Anthonee Bartholic and first baseman Tiago Costa to seal the win.

Batters who helped Gilroy tally 10 runs included: Drysdale (2-for-2), Micheal Sanchez (2-for-2), Dylan Saulo (1-for-2, triple, 2 RBI), Goicovich (2-for-2, double, 3 RBI), Noah Liberatore (1-for-2, 2 RBI) and Garcia (1-for-1).

Gilroy’s most recent game was played Monday against Scotts Valley in Aptos. Results were unavailable as of press time.
