Brendan Reimer threw the first shutout of the National League playoffs tournament. He pitched a complete game, a two-hitter, striking out nine with no walks.

The Nationals had eight hits in the game. Darren Santos had two hits, including a two-RBI double. Joseph Rojas and Brendan Reimer had two hits and two RBIs. Kevin Cox-Subia had a hit, and Ben Reeder also contributed by laying down a perfect bunt single.

Ryan Citti made two nice plays at second base, one assisted by first baseman Jayson Hickman.

Girls Minors

Armadillos 14, Heat 9

The Armadillo’s offense was led by Jessica Cabatingas who recorded three RBIs and Ashley Irby, who hit a two-RBI single to help the offense. Pitcher Lauren Castro had 11 strikeouts.

Morgan Rogers recorded a double for the Heat. Bayle Francis had a single, and Meliani Garnica had an RBI.

Armadillos 9, Riptide 8

The Armadillos’ offense was led by Jessica Cabatingas, who had two RBI singles and scored the winning run on a passed ball. Leslie Marquez had a double, Lauren Castro recorded a triple and a single, and Abby Kienle had an RBI. Castro had 10 strikeouts.

For the Riptide, Sidney Sandoval had a two-RBI double. Kaylie Chang and Veronica Chavez recorded RBI singles each. Mackenzie Holt and Nicky Stone each had singles. Holt and Chang combined for 12 strikeouts.

Bandits 8, Sunbirds 3

Brianna Barron had a hit as well as two RBIs for the Bandits. Julia Chizanskos had a single and Sol Mendez-Alvarado recorded an RBI. Pitcher Samantha DeLaTorre recorded 13 strikeouts.

The Sunbirds offense was led by Dejah Raoof, who had an RBI double and a single. Starr Fries had an RBI single and Jessica Asuncion recorded that final RBI. Karli Martinez, Ana Gamboa, and Davanity Zepeda each had singles. Gamboa, Maria Sandoval and Raoof had eight strikeouts.
