Gonzalo Stephen Valencia (Chalo), 79, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 26, 2008, at his Gilroy home with his loving wife, Nancy and family members at his side. Chalo was born in Rancho Cucamonga, California on May 18, 1929 to Anna and Pascual Valencia.

Laurette C. Ehrich

Laurette C. Ehrich loved dearly by her family passed away peacefully at her home in Gilroy on October 24, 2008 surrounded by her family. Laurette was born October 4, 1923 on Mount Madonna where she lived until she was 13. She then moved to Gilroy where she attended Gilroy High School and met her husband Jack S. Ehrich who preceded her in death in 1980. Laurette worked for Eustice Insurance Agency for many years. She also worked and eventually retired from Wheeler Hospital/St. Louise Hospital in Gilroy. She was a remarkable woman with a great talent of crocheting. Laurette was a charter member of Las Animas Post 669 of the American Legion Auxiliary, a member of The ICF District 28 and The Others Club. She belonged to the P.T.A. of her daughter's school. She enjoyed playing Bridge and Bunco with her many friends.

Edna May Marrujo (nee Ervin), a retired cannery worker, died peacefully in the embrace of her loving daughters on October 21st, 2008. She was 84. She was the daughter of Oliver and Ardath Ervin.

Martin (Marty) M. Mullins, age 92, died at Windsor Chico Care Facility, Chico, Ca, on Friday, October 24, 2008, after battling the effects of Alzheimer's disease for over eight years.

Margaret S. Garza

Entered into the Kingdom of Heaven. She is survived by her loving parents, Steve and Martha, brother Martin, sister-in-law Deanna, brother Michael, sister Marcella, brother-in-law Mark, niece Christina, nephews Robert, Gabriel and family. Margaret will be greatly missed. A potluck memorial celebration to honor her life will be held on Saturday, 11/8/08 at 1:00 P.M. at San Martin Country Park, 13865 Monterey Road, San Martin, CA. Robert L. Bacon, Sr.

Robert L. Bacon was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio. Bac attended Miami University (Oxford, Ohio) where he met Margaret Jane Van Epp. After graduation from Miami University, Bac enlisted in the Army Air Corps where he quickly learned to fly, and was promoted to flight instructor.

January Ellen Norman

January Ellen Norman - beloved daughter of Marietta and Donald Norman, beloved mother of Alana Alcini, and sister of Judy Norman - passed away of a terminal illness on October 22, 2008 at 6:25 P.M. She went to be with her grandmother, Nellie Demee, in heaven. Born January 24, 1956 in Washington D.C., Jan moved to Morgan Hill with her family in 1971. Jan graduated in 1974 from Live Oak High School and loved all that California had to offer including snow skiing, water skiing, camping and fishing. Jan was full of life and always loved to help others. She will be greatly missed by all that had the pleasure of knowing her. Her ashes will be spread over Half Dome in Yosemite National Park at a later date.

Layton (Huck) Rice

Francis Layton Rice passed away October 22, 2008. He was affectionately known as "Huck" by old family and friends.
