Thomas Allen Berghoff, age 69, went home to the Lord at his home in Morgan Hill, CA, July 2, 2008 after a valiant eight year battle with cancer. His family was at his side. Born in Fort Wayne, IN. Tom was the son of Paul L. and Ethel M. Berghoff.

Dan was born in San Jose, Ca to the late Daniel S. Cuevas, Sr. and the late Evangelina Ochoa-Cuevas. He is survived by wife Eileen T. Cuevas, children Patrick and Alicia Cuevas, daughter in-law Maria and granddaughter Eva.
Grady James Goldman, long time resident of Gilroy lost his lengthy battle with cancer on July 4, 2008. Grady was a fixture at the Gilroy golf course, playing daily as long as he was able. Grady was 84 years old, born June 14, 1924 in Hot Springs, Arkansas. The youngest of seven children he came west, joining the army and serving in the European theater during the latter part of WWII. He was married for 55 years to Lorena Plass Goldman, who preceded him in death on December 7, 1999.
Annabel Sawyer Kropff of Hereford, Texas, passed away of natural causes at Gilroy Healthcare. Annabel is the daughter of Lemuel and Kate Sawyer of Hereford, Texas. She came to Gardena, CA in 1942, where she raised her family of five children, she moved to Gilroy in 1966.
In l892 John Botelho and his wife Mary came to Santa Clara, California from Madeira & Azore Islands (Portugal) via Hawaii. They had seven children with the youngest being Pauline Agnes Botelho who was born Sept. 24, 1920. In 1920, the family sold their dairy and moved to the San Juan Valley. Pauline went to the two room school off Olympia Road. She was an avid softball player thorough out school and her young adulthood.
Juan A. Polo aged 91 years passed away at his residence with his family at his side. Juan was a native of Salamanca, Spain, was educated in Spain, and came to San Benito County 52 years ago. He was employed as a cannery worker for 27 years until he retired. He was an active member of the Sociedad Espanola De San Benito; Sacred Heart Church; and belonged to the Teamsters Local No 890 of Salinas. His interests included the U.B.E. Lodge barbeques and dances; visiting with his friends at the Senior Citizen Center – playing bingo there and at Sacred Heart Parish; going to the Indian casinos, and watching boxing matches on the television-"he wouldn't miss it if one was televised", said his family. Juan's wife Nicolasa Polo passed away in December 1989. He is survived by his children and their spouses Mary Polo Puente, husband Mike of San Francisco, Isidro Polo, spouse Linda of Hollister, Angela Polo-Dixon, spouse Bob of Ventura, Johnny Polo, spouse Jean of Campbell, and Agustina Polo Gallegos, spouse Emilio of Hollister; 11 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, a brother Marceliano Polo of Spain and many nieces and nephews.
