The Gilroy Police Department responded to a stabbing incident at about 11:05 p.m. Friday on the 700 block of West Ninth Street in Gilroy.
According to the GPD, Michael Pritchard was arrested at the residence after making threats to cause harm and cut a victim with a knife.
The suspect stabbed the victim and also cut himself with the knife prior to police arriving at the scene, according to the GPD. Police say the weapon was discovered at the scene.
The 30-year-old male victim received nonlife threatening injuries and refused medical treatment, police said. The suspect was given medical treatment for nonlife threatening injuries at a Bay Area hospital and was then booked into the San Jose Main Jail, according to the GPD.
