Gilroy – The 59-team Winter League program conducted by the Gilroy Community Services Department begins softball action tonight with games at Las Animas and Gavilan Sports Parks.

Games scheduled for Christmas Hill Park have been switched to Gavilan for at least the first week of play due to field upgrades at the city’s signature park.

The Men’s C League plays at Gavilan tonight, opening with Czar Construction opposite the Playaz at 6:30pm. Team Talamo Foods and Pro Electric meet at 7:40, Danger II and Bike Center at 8:50. Jus 2 Party drew the bye.

Las Animas Park features play in the Men’s CC League tonight. The Las Animas Sweepers and Feather Haven Mill square off at 6:30pm. Rosso’s Rebels and Buzz N By U play the 7:40 game, Johnson Lumber and Murderer’s Row-Manolow’s Glove Repair at 8:50.

The program includes tripleheaders at two fields each weeknight and a five-game series Sundays. Six men’s leagues, one women’s league and two co-rec leagues will play eight-game schedules leading to playoffs. Futher information is available at 846-0460.
