Salvation Army

Each Christmas, The Salvation Army supplies toys to nearly 2,000 children in need in the Gilroy community.
This year, however, the organization is suffering from a shortage of toys. Through the Holiday Assistance Program, local families are able to sign up to receive a food basket and toys for their children. The Salvation Army in Gilroy is asking for donations of new, unopened toys, especially for children 10 and under.
“We try to serve as many families as possible each year,” said Captain Demetrio Villarreal, Corps Officer for The Salvation Army in Gilroy. “Please help us to meet the needs of our community and brighten a child’s Christmas with a gift.”
Toys can be donated directly to The Salvation Army at 200 West Fifth St. in Gilroy anytime before Monday. More information is available by calling (408) 848-5373.
