Dear Editor,

On behalf of Operation Interdependence, we would like to acknowledge the support and contributions of many individuals, businesses and organizations who gathered Friday night at the Gilroy Chamber of Commerce office. More than 100 volunteers, young and old, came together to pack c-rats (civilian rations), fill handmade Christmas stockings with goodies and write letters to send to our deployed troops.

Thanks to Pam Goff and the Gilroy Chamber for providing the perfect space, after a precious venue fell through at the last minute. Also, thanks to Georgia Treft of Container Consulting Services for her continued support with her generous donations of shipping boxes. A special note of gratitude goes to all of the volunteers who shared their time and talents by sewing over 700 Christmas stockings for the brave men and women who are away from home during the holidays.

With everyone working together by donating goodies, sewing stockings, writing letters and packing quart sized baggies, OI is able to touch the hearts of 2,000 American Heroes overseas during this holiday season. For more information on how to become involved, please visit www.oidelivers.org.
