Two women with outstanding warrants, one of them with a $1 million warrant who was recently featured in the Most Wanted section of the Dispatch, were arrested at 12:21 a.m. on Tuesday at the corner of Leavesley Road and U.S. 101.
Breanna Salgado, 19 of Gilroy, was arrested for evading arrest and for the $1 million bail warrant relating to drug charges with a gang enhancement. Salgaldo was featured in the Dispatch’s Most Wanted section on Oct. 5.Â
Karina Hernandez, 19 of San Jose, was also arrested for an outstanding warrant with no bail. Hernandez initially gave police a false name, but was identified with the assistance of a mobile identification device.Â
Gilroy Police attempted to pull over a 1999 black Honda Civic for a vehicle code violation (there was something hanging illegally from the rearview mirror)Â on U.S. 101 and Leavesley Road. As the officer approached the vehicle, Salgado sped away and police initiated a short vehicle pursuit.
The chase ended quickly, when Salgado lost control of the vehicle and spun out into the sidewalk in front of Denny’s Restaurant on Leavesley Road. A second passenger, a Hispanic male in his 20s, fled the scene and was not arrested.Â
