Gilroy artist Steven Pattie is featured in a new solo exhibition at the San Francisco Zen Center.
Titled “Perambulations in Words, Art, and Spirituality: The Art of Steven Pattie,” the exhibit features Pattie’s recent photographs, paintings, words and constructions.
Pattie graduated from Westmont College (B.A., English) and from Fuller Theological Seminary (M.Div., Theology). Throughout his varied career he has been engaged in advertising and fundraising on behalf of nonprofits. His first calling as a visual artist, writer, poet, musician, film producer and art collector/curator has led to a body of work including publication in a variety of venues, and representation of painting and other visual art in galleries and museums across the country.
At his Redwood Retreat Gallery, Pattie exhibits his work alongside other artists, along with the literature and art of the Mid-Century/Beat period. Through Noso-n, a second gallery space at Pattie Farm, he presents the story of the San Francisco Bay Area’s Ohlone Nation.
The exhibit at the San Francisco Zen Center opens with a reception on Oct. 20 from 7-9pm, and runs through Nov. 15 at 300 Page St. in San Francisco.
