Partnering with the Gilroy Unified School District, Breathe California will soon be unveiling a formerly diesel-fueled school bus converted to a fully electric, solar-recharged vehicle.
On May 27, School officials in Gilroy will soon unveil what’s being described as a “first-of-its-kind, full-sized electric school bus converted from diesel.”
Breathe California and the Gilroy Unified School District are scheduled to cut the ribbon on its solar array and showcase the bus. A press release from Breathe California encouraged the media to “learn how any school district can have zero-emission clean, safe buses and save money at the same time.”
The project is being supported by a grant through the Health Trust.
