affiliate, the Akron Aeros, for part of last season and all of this
year.
Chris Gimenez was promoted last week to the Triple-A Buffalo Bisons after playing with the Cleveland Indians’ Double-A affiliate, the Akron Aeros, for part of last season and all of this year.
Gimenez, 25, has been excellent at the plate so far this season, hitting .339 to go with 15 doubles, a triple, six home runs and 26 RBI. He also led the Eastern League with 46 runs scored before being called up.
The Gilroy native was picked by Cleveland in the 19th round of the 2004 First-Year Player Draft. In 2007, he finished tied for third in the Carolina League with 20 home runs in only 83 games with Single-A Kinston.
Gimenez has played catcher in five games for the Bisons so far, totaling five hits in 17 at-bats.
