Ming, Mark and Mischa: In July, a Gilroy resident died and her family abandoned her three dogs, leaving them in the backyard in deplorable conditions without a caretaker. A neighbor who doesn’t have any dogs would occasionally throw food over the fence and dribble water to them, but would not go near them because he thought they would bite.
Diane Norgard and Sondra Alexandre stepped in to rescue them, and Tabitha Myers donated grooming services. The “before” and “after” pictures speak for themselves. Thanks to Diane, Sondra and Tabitha!
Ming, the Pug, has already been adopted. Mark (Cairn Terrier, age 4), and Mischa (Poodle, age 2), are still available for adoption. Both are now vet-checked, deemed healthy, and are now posted on our website at http://www.fosmas.org.

Buddy (blind Corgi mix)

Buddy is a very sweet 6-year-old blind Corgi-mix male dog that was found abandoned in a San Jose apartment complex and suffering from glaucoma. Efforts to locate his previous owners proved fruitless. Several long-time FOSMAS supporters saw Buddy’s wonderful personality and potential, wanted to help find him a new home, and address his glaucoma problem. After a second test registered a lower eye pressure, we hoped his glaucoma might be improving, but later found it had increased again, resulting in him needing surgery to remove both eyes due to the severe glaucoma which caused his blindness and pain. He had surgery on 16 Jul at South County Animal Hospital (SCAH) in Morgan Hill to have both eyes removed, and is recovering very well. Buddy is currently in foster care, and is now available for adoption. His ideal home would be with a person, couple, or family where someone is home most/all day, and patient and understanding enough to let Buddy learn his new home and family by smell. Since he’s blind, he needs an indoor home with a safe outdoor yard. He’s a very intelligent dog, and would be a wonderful addition to the right home and family. Pistol
This dog’s owners had to leave the state and move to Colorado. They couldn’t find a home for their dog and they left him with friends, but the friends can’t keep him either. He is a 5-year-old Dachshund, is named Pistol, has a nice disposition, and is in good health.
