stabbing a man Saturday night.
Gilroy police on Tuesday arrested a transient suspected of stabbing a man Saturday night.
The Gilroy Police Department arrested Jesus Ramirez Negrete in the 7100 block of Crocker Lane without incident, according to a press release.
Negrete is suspected of stabbing another man in the torso near the 7300 block of Forest Street.
The victim’s injuries were not life-threatening and he has been released from a local hospital, according to the GPD.
Negrete fled the scene prior to police arrival, but detectives were able to identify Negrete as a suspect after an immediate investigation, according to the GPD.
Detectives interviewed Negrete at the GPD, then he was booked into the Santa Clara County Jail in San Jose for one count of assault with a deadly weapon.
