the A’s. They’re a lot better than the stinkin’ Giants and I get
sick and tired of them getting put on the back page, if you even
bother to put it in the paper.

GREEN PHONE: Caller 1, we hope the past week of A’s coverage on the front page is more to your satisfaction.
CALLER 2: I’m calling from Hastings, Mich., commenting on Danica Patrick’s historic Indy 500 performance. What Danica has done for auto racing is what Annika Sorenstam and Tiger Woods have done for golf. She’s put excitement back into the sport. She’s a talented driver, very smooth and willing to admit to her mistakes, which some of the seasoned drivers ought to take note of. She’s good and she’s fun to watch race. And someday, if she stays in auto racing, she will win the Indy 500.
GREEN PHONE: Caller 2, count the Green Phone as a fellow Danica Patrick fan. We think the sky’s the limit for the young racer.
CALLER 3: How about some more racing, you ask? Well, how about some football, semi-pro football? Our Central Coast Barnstormers have been playing since the first of April. We haven’t seen a single article about them. This is a non-profit organization and all the players have to pay to play. And these guys play their hearts out because they love the game. They put on a darn good show, I might add. A lot of guys that played for the ‘Balers and surrounding high schools play on this team. It sure would be nice to see an article about how they’re doing every other week or so. These guys deserve it and need your support. By the way, the Barnstormers beat the Oakland Vipers Saturday, June 5 in Oakland and are now in the playoffs. They play this coming Saturday, the 11th in Gilroy. Good luck, guys.
