Youth Center Halloween Pumpkin

The Gilroy Youth Center will hold this event Thursday. There will be Trick-or-treating at local merchants between 3 and 4 p.m., with the party lasting from 4 to 6 p.m. with a haunted house, pizza, cupcakes, candy and games for ages 6 to 17. For more information call 848-1675.

Haunted Ranger Station

Visit Coyote Lake County Park from 5:30 to 10 p.m. Saturday and Sunday for the second annual Coyote Lake haunted ranger station. Check out spooky critters, bob for apples, play games and have some Halloween fun. Costumes are optional. The park is located at 10840 Coyote Lake Road. “Safe trick-or-treat”

Downtown Morgan Hill merchants, for the sixth year in a row, will hand out candy while crossing guards help kids cross the street safely. Kids can enter a costume contest at BookSmart,17415 S. Monterey Road and get a digital photo of themselves in costume. Prizes include $50 and $25 gift certificate from BookSmart. The event runs from 5 to 7 p.m. on Halloween. Costume Party

Don your favorite costume and join IDI (Independence Day, Inc.) at this Halloween party, raising funds to support Morgan Hill’s Fourth of July public celebrations. Prizes for the best costumes. Have your palm read by a professional palm reader, dance to a classic rock band featuring members of The Usual Suspects and The Dadz. At The Grange, East Fourth Street, from 8 p.m. to midnight Friday. Adults 21 and over only. On-site babysitting, $5 per child. Dungeon of Fear

The Dungeon of Fear haunted house will come to Morgan Hill for one night only from dusk until 11 p.m. on Halloween. The dungeon will be at 200 Burnett Ave. in the clubhouse and costs $2 per person. For more information call Heather Nelson at 776-0542.

Haunted castle

Visit Morgan Hill’s only haunted castle for its fourth year of fear and scary fun from 5 p.m. to whenever the last ghost gives up today, Sunday and Thursday. While the castle is free, the organizers will gladly accept donations for the Morgan Hill Charter School, 500 La Crosse Drive, off Vineyard, behind Nob Hill Market. Halloween Boo Bash

DJ Jammin J presents the 6th Annual Halloween Boo Bash at 9 p.m. Saturday at the Camelot, 275 E. Dunne Ave., Morgan Hill. Admission is $5 with a costume, $10 without, and a $200 Costume Contest will be held. The event is for ages 21 and over. For more information call 686-SPIN.

SAN MARTIN

Uesugi Farms Inc.

The patch is offering tours beginning around 9 a.m. through Thursday. Each tour lasts 45 to 90 minutes depending on the size of the group. Also, visitors can see the giant pumpkin pyramid. The patch is located at 14485 Monterey Highway in San Martin. For more information call 778-7225.

San Martin Pumpkins

The Pumpkin Patch features a Smart Scarecrow Hayride, a jack-o’-lantern jumphouse, train rides, children’s playground, Cheshire Cat Maze, pony rides and a picnic area. Visitors are encouraged to bring a picnic lunch and spend the day. Hot dogs and popcorn also are sold at the snack stand. The event runs from 10 a.m. to dark at 13865 S. Monterey Road. San Benito County

Pumpkin Junction

Any visitor can walk through a short maze, ring the bell on the old Pacheco Train Engine and purchase pumpkins and gourds at Casa de Fruta’s Pumpkin Junction. Also enjoy a playground area with a giant slide, wander through rolling grass and watch fish swimming in the fish ponds. Open 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday. and 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. on weekends. 6680 Pacheco Pass Hwy. Casa de Fruta is 13 miles east of Gilroy. Take Highway 152 and turn at the Casa de Fruta Parkway exit. No admission charge. Details: 842-9316.

Corn Maze

The maze at Swank Farms is haunted after 7 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights. A large variety of pumpkins are available for purchase in the pumpkin patch. Every Thursday night will be a fundraiser for causes like the Hollister High School water polo team. The maze is open noon to 9 p.m. Thursday, 10 a.m. to midnight Friday and Saturday and 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday. The Pumpkin Patch is open daily from 10 a.m. until dark. 2600 San Felipe Road in Hollister. Admission to the maze during the day is $7, children 12 and under are $4.
