Carmel, after a lengthy illness.
Helen Louise Hunsdorfer, 95, died Monday, September 27, 2004 in Carmel, after a lengthy illness.
Mrs. Hunsdorfer was born Sept. 1, 1909, in Lindsay, California. She was a homemaker and was married for 52 years to the late Arthur Joseph Hunsdorfer (1986).
She was raised in Lindsay, graduated from Lindsay High School, lived in Oakland, Salinas and then moved to Gilroy in 1952. She was a member of the Gilroy First Baptist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star, Rebecca Lodge, Gilroy.
She had a love of nature and gardening and was a beautiful seamstress and loved to crochet. She was loved for her pure heart and her spirit filled nature.
Mrs. Hunsdorfer is survived by her children and their spouses, Arthur J. and Maralee Hunsdorfer Jr. of Salinas, Ardean and Neland Doughty of Burney, Gail and Carl Burchfiel of Burney; grandchildren, Deborah Hunsdorfer, Arthur H. Hunsdorfer and Teri Lynn Hunsdorfer all of Salinas, Mark Doughty of Gilroy, Lori Plympton of Redding, Lee Doughty of Hollister, Craig Burchfiel of Fresno, Curtis Burchfiel of Billings, Mont., John Burchfiel of San Jose, Freda Wilson of Cameron Park; 21 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by four brothers Bill, Leslie, Carlyle and Max Engleking and one sister, Florence Smock.
A visitation will be held from 2 to 8pm, Thursday, Sept. 30, 2004, with family present between 6 and 8pm, at Habing Family Funeral Home, Gilroy.
Funeral services will be held at 10am, Friday, Oct. 1, 2004, at the funeral home.
Burial will follow at Gavilan Hills Memorial Park, Gilroy.
