The Santa Clara County’s spay and neuter fund, which provides low-cost options for pets, is nearly out of funding. Shelter Supervisor Brigid Wasson estimates an additional $20,000 is needed to carry the program through June 30.
If the fund isn’t replenished, the county won’t be able to provide low-cost spay and neuters until July 1 when the new fiscal budget begins.
Private citizens can donate to this fund by making a check to Santa Clara County Animal Control. They should write “restricted donation – spay/neuter fund” on the memo line and send the check to San Martin Animal Shelter, ATTN: Spay/Neuter Fund, 12370 Murphy Ave., San Martin, CA, 95046.
Your donation may be tax-deductible. The shelter’s federal tax identification number is 946000533.
