Fireworks

Gilroy Police responded to 94 fireworks-related complaints the evening of July 4, according to Sgt. Chad Gallacinao, the highest amount of fireworks calls for at least the past three Independence Days.
Police issued 19 administrative citations (with fines of at least $250) and 11 misdemeanors for the use of illegal fireworks or the illegal use of permitted fireworks (such as using fireworks in a restricted area), also the highest number in three years.
“We promoted the rules a lot beforehand this year, and last night was about enforcing those rules,” Gallacinao said on Thursday. He said he was not aware of any fireworks-related injuries.
