Clubgoer injured, flown to San Jose hospital
Gilroy – The driver dragged the man out of the road, then got back in the car, saying he’d park and come back, George Jimenez said.

Jimenez, a security guard at the Rio Nilo club on Monterey Street, tried to control the crowds, who surged from the bar to gape at the man. It was a Friday night, and the bar was hopping, music spilling onto the street.

The man fainted when the car hit him, Jimenez said, but he wasn’t bleeding.

But the black BMW sped off, leaving the man lying in front of the club, where the car had hit him as he crossed the street. Just before the driver bolted, his passengers, three women and two men, got out of the car and split. Within minutes, they were lost on the dance floor.

An ambulance sped the victim to Saint Louise Regional Hospital, where he was flown by helicopter to Regional Medical Center of San Jose. His condition was unknown.

Police issued a “Be on the Lookout” at 11:42pm Friday night for the vehicle, a black BMW with plates reading VDB024. The driver, an unidentified San Jose man, faces hit-and-run charges. He remains at large.
