Despite the silly jab at President Bush, I applaud John Davis (Jan. 12) concerning the double standard – how the law does not apply to those who enforce it. This situation also demonstrates how ludicrous it is for pot to be illegal for adults, be it medicinal or recreational.
One needs to research what this district attorney did to those who were caught with pot, and apply this to him. Or better yet, end the prohibitionist mentality and legalize it, stopping the fascist intrusion into the private lives of adults.
Just like police, DA’s are an evil that may be necessary. So, as Mr. Davis suggests, I’d be among the first to heat the tar and gather the feathers …
