Dress in your best cowboy gear and celebrate fall with dancing, art, mechanical bull riding, games for all ages, a bouncy house, face painting and dinner choices from a variety of food trucks at Harvest Hoedown from 5 to 9 p.m. Oct. 16 at Las Animas School, 6550 Cimino St., Gilroy. A night of Flamenco
Gavilan College Music Department presents international flamenco dancer Lakshmi, “La Chimi,” and Jose Mendez in concert at 4 p.m. Oct. 18 at Gavilan College Theater, 5055 Santa Teresa Blvd., Gilroy. The Spanish Flamenco troupe will perform with local flamenco guitarist Albert Marques. African band performs
Experience the contemporary Christian music of Africa with a concert by the New Life Band from Tanzania, East Africa, at 7 p.m. Oct. 24 and at worship services Oct. 25 at Advent Lutheran Church, 16870 Murphy Ave., Morgan Hill. Saint Louise Regional Hospital volunteers will host a purse, jewelry and accessories sale from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 26-27 in the hospital cafe area, 9400 No Name Uno, Gilroy. Proceeds benefit the volunteer scholarship program.
Senior craft items for sale at senior center
Gilroy Senior Craft Store located inside the Gilroy Senior Center, 7371 Hanna St., features handcrafted items made by seniors. Hours are from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday-Friday.
